Funny Ginger Memes Part 1, Because Why Not?

There’s nothing wrong with orange hair, or a ridiculous amount of freckles all over your face … and back.  Seriously.  While my hair is more brownish than reddish, I am an Irishman which means I have more than my share of freckles and ginger tendencies – as well as a 2-liter deep glass boot for drinking beer water.  So since it’s Monday, and nobody likes Mondays – even Bill Lumbergh – we decided to keep our mega popular funny meme collection train rolling with a dip into the world of the funniest ginger memes.  Part one is below, and as always, many many more funny ginger pics to come!

Jarhead 2 Movie Trailer Failure

Wait, what?  Jarhead 2?  Yeah, that’s the exact same reaction I had when I saw this earlier today.  Apparently some movie investor out there believed the “Jarhead” name still had some financial value associated with it, so now Jarhead 2 is coming (thankfully) straight to Blu-Ray & DVD on August 19th.  You would think this is Gulf War, or at least Anthony Swofford related, but it’s not; Jarhead 2 actually takes place in Afghanistan, and to be completely honest the movie looks like a train wreck.

Funny Military Memes Part 1 of Probably Infinity

Memes are one of the biggest reasons I love the Internet; they’re just my type of humor, and the possibilities are endless.  Since our Kim Jong Un meme collections have basically gone viral, we figured we’d continue with some other high quality meme collections to keep this party going: today’s batch – the military!  While this is coming from a Marine, please note that I’ve got all branches included – I won’t discriminate, so spare me the nice emails and comments.  Hit the link below for SQ’s funny military memes part 1 of … well, let’s just say infinity – there are about a million more that I found on the Interweb, so as your favorite platoon sergeant used to say, standby to standby. New MRE Menu Item Is Half Safety, Half Motivation

I miss a lot of things from my time in the Marine Corps, but eating MRE’s (that’s Meals Ready to Eat for my civilian SQ’ers) sadly is not one of them.  While I’m not a picky eater by any means – I would eat just about every MRE out there – there were a few that actually weren’t too bad, either hot or cold.  The best MRE item by far in my four years of fine field dining was the dairy milkshake: I don’t care if it had 20 grams of trans fat, or blocked you up for the next 90 days – those things were freaking incredible, and it was a blow to my heart when the DoD said to throw them away during a salmonella scare.  Guess what – this guy still ate ’em, and it felt great.  But enough about MRE dairy milkshakes, there’s a new menu item in town that’s half safety and half motivation; can it overtake the milkshake?  We’ll see.  Hit the link below to crack open the latest MRE from the four star chefs at the Pentagon.

Greatest Surfer Interview Ever, or Audition Video for Workaholics?

Let’s just get this straight: I’m not even slightly qualified to talk about surfing, but this website is half-mine so guess what – we’re talking about surfing.  While I was stationed out in Hawaii for a few years with the Marines, and I did take a surf lesson on about 6-8 foot waves at the same place (Turtle Bay) where Kunuu taught Jason Segal in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, let’s just say surfing isn’t for me.  It was a stellar workout, but yeah, I’d rather do other things like just swim and/or drink Kona Brewing Co. beer on the beach.  But enough about me, this latest post is about quite possibly the greatest surfer interview you will ever witness – or is it actually a secret audition video for the new and fourth Workaholics character?  You decide – I’m just going to keep laughing.

Probably the Funniest Boot Camp Letter Ever

Oh boot camp, how I do not miss thee.  While technically I went to Marine OCS (Officer Candidate School, or in simple terms: boot camp), it’s not something I would really want to do again.  For those guys who tragically got hurt at OCS – fractured bones was the most common from the constant running/hikes – they got the chance to start all over again, which makes them even more impressive. Would you want to do boot camp 1.5 or 2 times?  I would – but I would be one grumpy mother trucker in my second go-through.  Alright enough with the nostalgia: what I have here for you in preview picture form above, and full picture form below, is arguably – no probably the funniest boot camp letter I have ever read.  It is also ironically maybe the most coherent and intelligent, but then again, it’s not really that surprising because it came via the frustrated pen of a paralegal specialist!  What’s a paralegal specialist in the Army, you ask?  He/she is pretty much the tip of the spear on the front lines.  /sarcasm.  Full boot camp letter below!

Throwback Thursday: Jay Leno and David Letterman Pics from 1979

For me it’s really hard to choose between late night television shows, as I think they are all equal parts hilarious.  Leno was always hilarious with his stand-up bit, and who could hate on the Jaywalking bits when he would ask random people on the street questions about US history?  Letterman and Fallon are always pretty funny – although the two have very different styles of comedy – and then there’s Jimmy Kimmel, who I still can’t believe looks the way he does after his Man Show days.  Last but not least we have Mr. Conan O’Brien – maybe the best of the entire bunch – so you can see how tough it is to really decide on watching just one of them.  Regardless, since it is officially Throwback Thursday here at SQ, we decided it would be pretty cool to take a look back – way back to 1979 – and see what some of these gentlemen looked like more than 30 years ago.  Great pictures below!

Harry Potter vs Star Wars Funny Video

Yeah, so I really am not a fan of Harry Potter – I’ve tried the movies, and even one of the books, and I just can’t get in to anything that begins with Harry and ends with Potter.  Now Star Wars on the other hand I love – I grew up with Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, and I am pumped for the latest movie – which now all the original stars will be acting in!  So with that being said, I was a little skeptical about the Harry Potter half of this video, but I was dead wrong: this video is extremely well done, highly entertaining, and is without a doubt a must-see funny video.  Watch it now!

Marine Corps vs US Army PT Video

As a former Marine, yes, I am certainly biased, but I have nothing but pure respect for all of our services – we all play different roles, and we all get our jobs done.  That being said, it’s always fun to poke fun – outside of our business and military analysis posts here at SQ, this is pretty much an entertainment/parody site – at the military in general, because competition just makes us all better.  The Army has always had a competition with the Marine Corps, with both sides saying their PT is harder, and/or their respective boot camps are harder.  I am just going to go out on my biased limb and say it really isn’t a contest – Marines are required to do dead hang pull ups, while soldiers in the Army are just graded on push ups.  But still, when it comes to unit PT, the choice of work out is honestly up to the unit commander, and in the video above, I think the answer about which PT session is tougher is pretty clear.  More after the video!
