Funny Marine Corps Pictures for Well, Marines

It’s crazy to think that I have now been off active duty from my beloved Marine Corps for two and a half years – the time has really flown by, and while I miss a lot of it, there’s a lot that I don’t.  The tendencies – all good ones, of course – will always be a part of me, which is why I’ll always get a kick out of pics that really capture the true humor of the Marine Corps.  So therefore, I present to the swelling military and Marine Corps community (all branches welcome!) here at SQ, part 1 of funny Marine Corps pictures for well, Marines!

Funny Canada Memes Part 1, Because it’s Probably Still Winter Up There

Let me make this very clear: I love Canada.  Honestly!  I would go up there every freaking summer if I could – my cousins and uncles always do a fly-in fishing trip each year – just to fish and drink beer.  I have been to some awesome places on vacation, but no kidding my one fly-in fishing trip into middle-of-nowhere-but-nowhere-had-endless-supplies-of-bears-and-LaBatt-Blue was the best, most relaxing vacation I have ever taken, and that includes Afghanistan.  My reasoning is simple: there are no roads or traffic noises, cell phones don’t work, and airplanes don’t even fly overhead.  If you thought a beach in Cancun was total relaxation, you’re wrong – try Canada!  Alright, so in the spirit of SQ – we make/poke fun of just about everything – I present to you the funniest Canadian memes all in one glorious funny picture collection.  Enjoy hosers!

Marine Gets Hilarious Deployment Letter from Kid

If you’ve deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq over the last decade, then you’ve likely received or seen one of your buddies crack open a care package filled with dozens of cards from kids.  I have a mother, sister and multiple cousins that are school teachers, so you could say I got my fair share of cards from kids back home, and I would say one out of every ten or so was an absolutely hilarious one.  Kids – especially when they’re young – don’t know anything but honesty, so that can result in some award-winning deployment cards.  I thought I had seen some awesome ones until the one below (hit that link – you know you want to) pretty much trumped it.

New MRE Menu Item Is Half Safety, Half Motivation

I miss a lot of things from my time in the Marine Corps, but eating MRE’s (that’s Meals Ready to Eat for my civilian SQ’ers) sadly is not one of them.  While I’m not a picky eater by any means – I would eat just about every MRE out there – there were a few that actually weren’t too bad, either hot or cold.  The best MRE item by far in my four years of fine field dining was the dairy milkshake: I don’t care if it had 20 grams of trans fat, or blocked you up for the next 90 days – those things were freaking incredible, and it was a blow to my heart when the DoD said to throw them away during a salmonella scare.  Guess what – this guy still ate ’em, and it felt great.  But enough about MRE dairy milkshakes, there’s a new menu item in town that’s half safety and half motivation; can it overtake the milkshake?  We’ll see.  Hit the link below to crack open the latest MRE from the four star chefs at the Pentagon.

PFC Merica: You Know His Drill Instructors Loved Him

Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to formally introduce to you a young United States Marine, PFC Merica.  No, that is not a spelling error or typo; PFC Merica, as in ‘Merica, or America.  How awesome is that last name?  While I was in the Marine Corps from 2008-2012 I came across many a stellar last name when it came to the Marine Corps’ ranking system: LCpl Boot (seriously), Capt Commander (not joking), and many, many more.  Obviously the best route for PFC Merica to go would be the MECEP (Marine Corps Enlisted Commissioning Education Program) route to become an officer, because how could you honestly pass up being called Captain Merica for 4-8 years?  Granted those would be big shoes to fill, but I can tell by this guy’s smile that he’s got in him; at the very least I hope he becomes the SgtMaj of the Marine Corps, because SgtMaj Merica sounds equally awesome as well. Full photo and more after the jump!
