The Dark Souls series is one of the best from this or last generation, and I don’t think anyone would be angry if went on a never ending Final Fantasy style release path with more sequels than you can possibly keep track of. Oh, but speaking of angry, yes, you will get angry playing Dark Souls 2; I’m probably the calmest, most patient person you’ll ever meet, but when you have to start all the way over from the freaking beginning after yet another stupid little mistake, controllers will break and profanities will be articulately shouted. But the reward for success? That’s what makes this series so legendary, and what makes the review below so hilarious for those who have endured the highs and many, many lows!
My wife – who I love to death – has had June 5th, 2014, carved into her iPhone calendar since probably January of this year, because that was the official release date for the second seasons of Netflix’s latest smash television series, Orange Is the New Black (OITNB for short). While I have not seen the show before – I never really got into Oz, so why would I like OITNB? – I have started to notice some hilarious caption screenshots around the Internet, so I thought it would be funny to put them all in one place. That is, of course, if any of you OITNB fans aren’t too busy binge-watching season two. Hit the link below for the funny OITNB pics, and yes, I guarantee the caption guy/gal at Netflix definitely is getting a raise!
If you have enjoyed the two rounds of Kim Jong Un memes that we’ve posted thus far, then standby for maybe the next goofiest world leader to join him in SQ stardom: Mr. Vladimir Putin, the President of (Mother) Russia. I have seriously waded through hundreds of funny Vladimir Putin pics, and weeded out what I think will make for an excellent part one. So grab your vodka, and that awesome Russian fur hat you’ve got in your mom’s basement and enjoy the Putin!
Relax my slightly qualified warriors, Father’s Day 2014 is still 11 days away! If your blood stopped pumping when you saw this post’s headline about Father’s Day – meaning you forgot all about it – don’t feel left out. This morning when I was driving to work here in beautiful, congested-as-all-insert-your-favorite-curse-word Houston, they mentioned it on the radio and made it seem like it was this weekend. Thankfully we still have some time, and also thankfully we have some stellar Father’s Day advice from the legendary Samuel L. Jackson! And no, this is not a Capital One credit card advertisement. Hit the link below for the full funny picture!
It’s crazy to think that I have now been off active duty from my beloved Marine Corps for two and a half years – the time has really flown by, and while I miss a lot of it, there’s a lot that I don’t. The tendencies – all good ones, of course – will always be a part of me, which is why I’ll always get a kick out of pics that really capture the true humor of the Marine Corps. So therefore, I present to the swelling military and Marine Corps community (all branches welcome!) here at SQ, part 1 of funny Marine Corps pictures for well, Marines!
If you enjoyed the recent Duke Nukem Forever review we posted earlier this month, then wait until you read this hilarious one for Watch Dogs, which is the brand new open world action game that just everybody in the gaming industry is talking about. Let me make this very clear: I love Canada. Honestly! I would go up there every freaking summer if I could – my cousins and uncles always do a fly-in fishing trip each year – just to fish and drink beer. I have been to some awesome places on vacation, but no kidding my one fly-in fishing trip into middle-of-nowhere-but-nowhere-had-endless-supplies-of-bears-and-LaBatt-Blue was the best, most relaxing vacation I have ever taken, and that includes Afghanistan. My reasoning is simple: there are no roads or traffic noises, cell phones don’t work, and airplanes don’t even fly overhead. If you thought a beach in Cancun was total relaxation, you’re wrong – try Canada! Alright, so in the spirit of SQ – we make/poke fun of just about everything – I present to you the funniest Canadian memes all in one glorious funny picture collection. Enjoy hosers!
If you’ve deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq over the last decade, then you’ve likely received or seen one of your buddies crack open a care package filled with dozens of cards from kids. I have a mother, sister and multiple cousins that are school teachers, so you could say I got my fair share of cards from kids back home, and I would say one out of every ten or so was an absolutely hilarious one. Kids – especially when they’re young – don’t know anything but honesty, so that can result in some award-winning deployment cards. I thought I had seen some awesome ones until the one below (hit that link – you know you want to) pretty much trumped it.
We’ve all played crappy video games at one point or another in our lives, and hopefully we didn’t lose too much money – not just by the game itself, but via broken controllers, etc – in the painful process. Duke Nukem Forever, released in 2011 and took only 15 years to make, promised to be the long-awaited sequel that Nukem fans had been craving for since Duke Nukem 3D became the “it” game in 1996. While I never played Duke Nukem Forever, I did play its predecessor, and I remember really enjoying it – especially the hilarious one-liners that you really couldn’t find in any other game or genre at the time. In the spirit of humorous one-liners then, it is appropriate that we feature arguably the funniest Duke Nukem Forever review that has graced the Internet, as this is short, not-so-sweet and directly to the damning point. Hit the link below and enjoy.
There’s nothing wrong with orange hair, or a ridiculous amount of freckles all over your face … and back. Seriously. While my hair is more brownish than reddish, I am an Irishman which means I have more than my share of freckles and ginger tendencies – as well as a 2-liter deep glass boot for drinking
beer water. So since it’s Monday, and nobody likes Mondays – even Bill Lumbergh – we decided to keep our mega popular funny meme collection train rolling with a dip into the world of the funniest ginger memes. Part one is below, and as always, many many more funny ginger pics to come!
Memes are one of the biggest reasons I love the Internet; they’re just my type of humor, and the possibilities are endless. Since our Kim Jong Un meme collections have basically gone viral, we figured we’d continue with some other high quality meme collections to keep this party going: today’s batch – the military! While this is coming from a Marine, please note that I’ve got all branches included – I won’t discriminate, so spare me the nice emails and comments. Hit the link below for SQ’s funny military memes part 1 of … well, let’s just say infinity – there are about a million more that I found on the Interweb, so as your favorite platoon sergeant used to say, standby to standby. I miss a lot of things from my time in the Marine Corps, but eating MRE’s (that’s Meals Ready to Eat for my civilian SQ’ers) sadly is not one of them. While I’m not a picky eater by any means – I would eat just about every MRE out there – there were a few that actually weren’t too bad, either hot or cold. The best MRE item by far in my four years of fine field dining was the dairy milkshake: I don’t care if it had 20 grams of trans fat, or blocked you up for the next 90 days – those things were freaking incredible, and it was a blow to my heart when the DoD said to throw them away during a salmonella scare. Guess what – this guy still ate ’em, and it felt great. But enough about MRE dairy milkshakes, there’s a new menu item in town that’s half safety and half motivation; can it overtake the milkshake? We’ll see. Hit the link below to crack open the latest MRE from the four star chefs at the Pentagon.
