Oh the things people will risk just to take a cool selfie video – like stand six inches away from a speeding freight train only to get kicked in the face, or like in today’s edition, crash their car and probably injuring/killing themselves, and people around them just because they wanted their selfie video to make it on Facebook and the Internet. One Facebook commenter summed this video up exceptionally well – and yes, every English teacher I have ever had just face palmed because I’m citing someone from Facebook – by adding, “young people are stupid … all over the world.” I wouldn’t solely single out young people in this selfie video bash, but they probably are the majority when it comes to any form of distracted driving. Then again I did just yesterday drive by a drifting, older woman who was not only putting on make up on the interstate during morning rush hour, but she also had her phone up to the other side of her face. Awesome.
